I've Been Where You Are Now, And I Know How It Feels

Over a decade ago I was an overly busy scientist - a professor, researcher and working mother who didn’t have a minute to spare for myself.

Over the years it got worse until I...

  • was chronically stressed
  • felt "on the edge" most of the time
  • saw minor obstacles as huge boulders in my daily life
  • even my relationship with my husband of 15 years was strained, and it just didn't feel like it was working any more

Yet I had no idea what to do or even that there was something I could do to stop the pain.

Letting Nature Meditate Me

Through my first-hand experiences and my scientifict background, I was surprised to find that the mediations that worked best for me didn’t involved much time sitting on a cushion trying to quiet my mind. Most of the meditations that worked were active, and involved appreciation, mindful relaxation and walking outside to let “nature mediate me”. 

As a scientist I stayed up on the latest research in brain science and stress physiology and incorporated these findings where ever I could to improve my practice.

Believe Me, I Was Skeptical Myself...

I am trained as a scientist. I was an atheist back then and only believed in the physical world.

There was no one on the planet more skeptical that I, which is why it took a force as powerful as a lightning bolt to wake me up.

That was over 13 years ago.

For a while, I had wanted to begin a consistent meditation practice.
